Birth of the Dragon

Directed by George Nolfi from a script by Christopher Wilkinson & Stephen Rivele, BIRTH OF THE DRAGON is inspired by the legendary fight between the young Bruce Lee and Shaolin Master Wong Jack Man, told from the point of view of Steve McKee, a student of Lee who became a disciple of Wong. In the mid-1960s in San Francisco, Lee and Wong fought before a handful of witnesses, no two of whom could agree on the outcome. Indeed, to this day, people still argue about who won that famous fight. But one thing is certain: After his battle with Wong, Bruce Lee reinvented himself and his style of kung fu, and became a legend known throughout the world. As a result of Lee’s fight with Wong, the Dragon was born. The film stars Xia Yu, Philip Ng, and Billy Magnussen.
